Membership

Is a tire care membership worth it?

We'll run the honest math, including the cases where a membership doesn't pay off, so you can decide for yourself.

A membership is only worth it if it earns its keep, so let's not hand-wave it. Two changeovers plus storage runs about $223 a year à la carte, and you still have to remember to book before the calendar fills. Essentials is $229 and books itself. It's about the same money as paying per visit, except you never lift a finger. Here is the honest math, including the cases where it does not pay off.

The à la carte math

Most drivers do two changeovers a year, fall and spring, plus off-season storage for the set that's not on the car. Paid one piece at a time, that runs roughly:

  • On-rim changeover in the fall: $79
  • On-rim changeover in the spring: $79
  • Off-season storage: about $65

That's about $223 a year. And that price assumes you remember to book both visits before the calendar fills up, which around the first snowfall it always does.

What Essentials actually costs

Essentials is $229 a year. It covers both changeovers and storage, the exact same three things above, for about what you'd pay buying them separately. So the price is roughly a wash with à la carte. What you're really buying is convenience.

The convenience is the bigger win for most people:

  1. Automatic rebooking. We track the seasons and reach out to set your changeover. You don't have to remember.
  2. Members book first. When the fall rush hits, member appointments get slotted before the general queue.

So Essentials costs about the same as paying per visit and takes the whole thing off your plate. For a driver who does the standard two-changeovers-plus-storage routine, it's the easy call.

When a membership doesn't make sense

We'd rather you skip it than feel sold. A membership is not for everyone:

  • You're about to change cars. If you're selling or trading the vehicle this year, don't lock in a yearly plan for it.
  • You only run one set of tires year-round. No changeovers means no changeover savings.
  • You store your own tires and like booking each visit yourself. Pay à la carte and call us when you're ready.

If any of those is you, just book single visits. On-rim swaps are $79, storage is about $65 a year, and there's no deposit either way.

Where Preferred earns its keep

Essentials is the value play. Preferred only makes sense if you'd use the extras anyway: it's $399 a year and adds a yearly detail, a tire rotation, and 10 percent off tires and parts.

If you know you'll need new tires or another part this season, that 10 percent stacks on top of a visit you were making anyway, which can swing the year's math in Preferred's favour. If you don't have anything else coming up, that benefit just sits unused, and Essentials is the smarter pick.

So, worth it?

For a typical two-changeover driver who stores with us, yes. Essentials runs about the same as à la carte and removes the booking hassle entirely. If you're changing cars, running one set of tires, or you like handling it yourself, pay as you go with a clear conscience. And if you want the yearly detail and a discount on parts, look at Preferred. We've kept it this simple since 2016, no deposit, workmanship guaranteed, and we confirm your setup on site before anything is charged.
